Starting your search early pays off. Here we provide an initial overview of your options for finding a home in Bern.

Short-term / furnished

If you plan to be in Bern for only a few weeks or months, or need a temporary home before moving into more permanent lodgings, you might try for a sublet or furnished suite.

Welcome Center: Room and Studio for rent (weekly)

Bulletin boards

Rental listings are often seen posted on bulletin boards around the university or in supermarkets. Do not hesitate to take a closer look! Individuals frequently use public spaces to find replacement tenants for apartments they are giving up.

Newspapers

Rental listings appear in the Berner Zeitung on Thursdays in the Anzeiger Region Bern on Wednesdays and Fridays. The newspapers are available at any newsstand, but may also be viewed online.
